2 Yamaha BBT-110S series cabinets. They both look new, have very little use and have never left the house. 250 watts - 4 ohm cabs. 17 x 14.5 x 14.5
Will ship in original cartons. Qty 1 - $165 shipped or $315 for both. No trades please - I'm really trying to reclaim my basement.

I can include a series cable for anyone that may want to run both 4 ohm cabs @ 8 ohms total. Speakon or 1/4 from (amp) to 1/4 inch (spkrs).

I know this might sound silly, but how in the world do you make two cab's that are wired for 4 ohms, 8 ohms once you hook it into the amp?

I do not mean to derail the thread but if this kind of thing is possible I would like to learn more about it if that is cool... free bump!

Peace,

By using a series Y cable, as opposed to both cabs running parallel (ie:daisy chained or both speakers using 1 each speaker out on amp which are wired parallel at the amp). Hope this makes sense!

No offense, but this sounds pretty confusing to me. I also have a pair of these cabs, made such a cable for exactly the same reasons, and it works fine.

Here's what is being described...

The way to accomplish this is to take a single speaker cable, run one of the wires all the way to the second cab. BREAK the other wire in the middle and make that the two leads for the connector on the first cab.

The key is to make sure you have the polarity correct. If the wire that goes all the way to the second cab goes to the shaft (or - of a speakon) of the connector, then the TIP (or + of a speakon) should be the segment of the wire that goes between the head and the first cab (just as shown above). This is actually pretty critical for proper results.

The cable will seem to function if you get it wrong, and nothing is at risk of any damage, but if you get it wrong, the speakers will tend to phase cancel each other out and you'll lose overall sound output level.

It doesn't look super pretty, but that's what's necessary. The downside to this wiring is, if the speaker in one cab goes in such a way as to open the circuit (such as a voice coil open circuit... like a burnout), they both go, instead of just one cab.

Series patch box

Very easy to make a series patch box. Then just plug in and you have 8 ohms. Nothing to it.

I can't believe they have been here THIS long. If I hadn't just purchased a couple Avatars, I'd be ALL OVER these!

A couple questions (and free bump):

What is the RMS power rating of each cab?
What is the approx weight of each cab?

THANKS!

I think they're 250 watts and about 32 lbs. Regular eminence speaker, not neo.

I just got one and I'm finding it extra easy to carry around. Handle's on the side.

Actually, to say these are "regular" speakers, is not really fair.

In the sense that they're not neo's (which I knew you meant), that's correct, but I think it's important to point out these are VERY special speakers made custom for Yamaha. These are nowhere near any off-the-shelf Eminence 10" speaker available.

These speakers are basically the Delta 12LF, but with a 10" frame and cone instead. What that means is, VERY beefy tone. Among the beefiest, if not THE beefiest, of ANY 10" speaker I've ever heard. They can take the power, and they can dish out huge tone. Mine have surprised people more than a few times.

Hopefully of some help, anyway.

Thanks, Vic-- and here I was thinking that there was a "magic bass troll" living inside, making the cab way deeper than it ever should have been.

I'm laughing to myself because I'm thinking of a bit from "Clerks 2."

Me included. These cabs sound AMAZING. I was ready to trade Vic my Epifani NYC-212 for them had it not been the 2/8ohm load problem.

I would take these of OP if i had the spare cash but the bills are kicking my ...
