This is one of several Squier Standard Jazz basses that I had purchased over the last year or so, for the purposes of my string testing ... I had several of these strung with a variety of flatwounds, to be able to do side/side testing ... I have now narrowed down my flat choices, and it is time to let some of these go ... Squier Standards were top of the line Squiers until '07-08 when the VM series was introduced ...
This is an '02 Squier Standard body in metallic red finish ... the wood is probably Agathis, and the finish is decent, back has some scratches on clearcoat, nothing that penetrates that ... it isn't really a buckle rash, more like where it was set on top of an amp or cab, etc ... the electronics are stock and complete on this body, including wired control plate and pickups ... the stock bridge is in place as well .. what is missing on this body are the strap pins, knobs and the pickguard (Standards do NOT have channel routing to control cavity, I use them without p/g) ... $50 plus actual shipping (probably $12-15)
The neck from this bass is also in decent condition ... the truss rod was tight when I bought it, and as mentioned I was stringing with flats, so I removed the truss rod nut and installed washers which allowed me a couple extra tweeks on it, you may actually be able to even get more, but it probably wont need ... I had Pyramid Golds, and Labella 760FL's on this neck, and it showed VERY minor relief .. neck is flat now, unstrung ... the frets are good, there are very minor dings on the back of the neck (non which caused a problem for me), the tuners are just right, nice and smooth after I flipped the tension plates in them ... This neck is completely loaded, including string tree, and also comes with the neck plate and the only screws ever used on it to assure a nice tighten ... it may sound silly, but the neck profiles on these Squier Standards, is probably my absolute fav of ANY bass I have played ... $50 plus actual shipping (probably $10-12)
.. my best access to ship, is USPS, so that is my main reason for posting necks and bodies seperated ... this neck and this body do go together, AND CAN BE SOLD TOGETHER, but quite frankly I do not trust USPS to ship a complete bass, so I seperate them, and package seperately ... PRICE FOR BOTH PIECES WOULD BE $100 plus actual shipping ... the only thing you would need to add to this bass to make it playable would be the strap pins, I bought this without knobs, pickguard and strap pins, but only played sitting down so it was no issue ...
... shipping to lower 48 only please ... and pictures of both pieces are available to a supplied email ... thank you
