I do have a '84 fullerton neck but I also do have a actual '65 Body this came on.

The gaurd does have shrinkage on it, I can tell because it perfectly fits the '65 body but its a tight fit and some screw start going at a angle do this .

Right now I am a little on the fence as what to do as I dont want to sell anyone somehting not authentic in either way.

I have never owned a 60's fender tort gaurd so I am guessing you guys are correct. As you can see by my feedback I am not here to try and rip anyone off, just apparently needing to do more HW.

here is a pic of it in different lighting.

So fullerton right?

I am dropping the price to $125 and opening a new thread

are there any markings on the body to show its a 65? youve got a fullerton neck and guard, couldnt it be an entire fullerton reissue that someone put a 76 pickup in and changed the neck plate? someone sold a fullerton reissue jazz here last year with a tiki job on the body that had 70's gray bottoms.

Here's a '82 Fullerton pepperoni guard. Currently it's on my 1965 mongrel Precision. These do look a lot like the '65-era guards. I had a '65 Jazzmaster that I sold recently and the original guard it had was very "pepperoni-ish".

I don't have a 60's era P but I might just buy this in case I get one later.

Didn't all the Fullertons come with gray bottom pups left over from the 70's? Didn't I read that somewhere? They received just basic P pups, no special '62 RI pickup.

the super early ones did. they then were black bottoms with cloth wiring and bright copper colored wire. some jazz basses ive seen have a single red bobbin pickup and a black bottom. some odd stuff in the beginning. the grays he's selling are dated 76 though. the grays were still dated in the 80's. i have a set of grays that are dated 82 in my 74 jazz.

I compared all the routings to another '65 O saw in person there identical, every screw hole , every route, now I have never seen a fullerton body naked in person , but there is no way there that close to a real '65. Also the bass came with more 65 parts, pots dated '65 and also a correct bridge for a '62 to like '67 fender and also the knobs were super light , just like real mid 60's fender knobs were, no reissue has gotten the weight of real 60's knobs correctly.

That along with the pickup and neckplate makes me certain the bass wasnt just a fullerton with changed parts.

I really cant prove or disprove this gaurd and I have had people PM me saying its real 60's. I have also had people say its fullerton.

Untill I can prove either way , I am more then likely going to pull the ad.

Sorry for any typo's, back from a gig been up all night and tired.

Maybe start a poll? 65 or Fullerton

The completed bass.. Was the Fullerton neck on it? The 76 pickups? 65 body original finish?

Or was it a 65 all original bass?

I'm convinced it's a '65, so much so that I'd be willing to pay the $325.

Well, there you go! If one man is willing to buy it as a '65, then everyone else's opinion doesn't matter. All you need is the buyer to be happy he is getting the real deal.

Enjoy the guard Low Class, and I'll keep searching for a Fullerton.

Is this sold? If Low Class doesn't take it and you want to sell it as a Fullerton I'll take it (I've seen many '65s and I own a Fullerton, I'm 100% in my own mind as to which it is)!

Unless someone is ahead of me in the queue.
