1983 Fullerton 62 RI P neck

Sign in to disble this ad
This is an early 1983 62 RI P neck that I bought off of Talkbass about a year ago. It appears to have been refinished on the headstock at some point. Anyway, it has the amazing wide and extremely thin neck profile that is simply amazing. The rosewood is also real dark and nice.

One minor issue is that the trussrod is pretty much maxed out. It allows for pretty low action, but I wouldnt turn it anymore than it is. I have used LaBella flats on it, so maybe a lighter tension string would allow for super low action? I don't know, but want to point that out.

Anyway, pics coming soon or I can email or text some later today to anyone interested.

Would like $400 OBO

Not sure that a maxed out truss rod is a minor issue, but good luck bump.

Well, fair enough. However, it plays fine and is a good price for what it is IMO. I could be wrong - hence the OBO

I believe this was my neck I sold. It had been defretted before I owned it so I sent it to Mike Dolan for a refret. He did an amazing job. I had him check the truss rod while he had it and I had a local tech I trust check it as well. Both said there is no issue whatsoever and it turned and functioned both ways. It WAS really far in there but I was told by a few experts that it was not uncommon for Fullertons to be that way. Dolan actually put a few washers in to bring it out a bit. That could possibly done more if needed but I never had issues and it was checked out and OK'd. This neck played wonderfully and is an amazing neck. The headstock was refinished around the edges to fix some bizarre scratches that were on it. I didn't do it but it was a solid job.

If you would like to trade for a 1989 62 Reissue Precision neck in unmolested perfect condition I would be interested in getting this neck back. If not let me know if you would consider selling just the tuners.

I also have the pepperoni tort guard as well as a Fullerton body available. The body didn't come from Mr. Alien, but is dated about 2 weeks apart from the neck. It is real light and resonant. It came to me stripped, and I sprayed on some reranch nitro - oly white. Not the best job, so you may want to refinish it. Pics available if you will PM your email address..
