Sign in to disble this ad
All pickups now SOLD!
Edit- found some single coils to replace these, so both sets are now FOR SALE! They are both in great condition, though the previous owner of the CBJD set cut the leads a little short (about 3 1/2- 4"). No biggie- you just may have to solder on some slightly longer leads depending on your bass. The 9J1s were bought new and hooked up to an Audere, so the leads have never been cut or soldered.
I'll sell each set for $80 shipped.
Thanks,
Karl

The 9J1s definitely seemed more agressive (or were in this fretless when paired with the Audere), if thats what you are asking. I'm not the best person to try to describe "modern" bass tones though, as I have always strayed toward passive and vintage- this bass was one of my few experiments with "the other side"...

My JZ3 should be arriving tomorrow afternoon so I'll wait and see what that does for my sound. My MIM 70s reissue doesn't have as much versatility as I would like, so hopefully the 3 band EQ will help out a bit. If not, I may take you up on your offer for the 9J1s.

I just want to go back to a passive setup, so I need a more midrange-centric set of pickups to give me the cut that the Audere was giving me. I never stick with preamps for long!
