34" scale fretboards slotted for fretless bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I slotted a ton of my best boards today after spending countless hours standing by my drum sander... They are all sanded to 120 grit, slotted to 34" scale, 24 frets, 1/4" thick, all over 3 1/4 wide....

Here is the catch, something in my jig had play in it, cannot figure out what it was. A couple of the slots on the board (differnet on each board) are 10- 20/1,000ths of an inch off, they are almost perfect, but a couple just arn't quite there, they are off by less than the size of the slot... I figure they probably would still work great for fretted basses but to be on the safe side I will say they should be used on lined fretless basses.

All the wood is crazy figured, figured purple heart with beeswings figure, crazy quilted birdseye maple, and beautifully figured curly roasted maple.

I am just trying to get my cost for lumber out of the boards...

Lets say 15.00 obo plus shipping per board, or 105 shipped for all 6!

heck, i will do 90 shipped if done in the next 24 hours... I was originally asking 30 a piece for these boards.. They are soo stinking close to being perfect and would probably work without a problem for fretted!

What direction are they off in? I mean are they all a little closer to the nut or the bridge? Or does it vary?

it kind of varies, mostly down on the last frets, its really quite hard to tell which one are off, if nobody takes them I will just make them into fretless boards for myself
