I do not have a tube tester, and if I did I would probably just shock myself. I am not an electronics buff.
The story on these tubes is: I used to own a Fender Concert amp (4x10, maybe 50 watts) from the mid 1960's. It was a good sounding guitar amp. I, not knowing what I was doing at the time (about 1985 I think), thought I could bi-amp my bass by running the high end out of the active crossover from my Peavey head into the front of the Fender.
Well, it turned out that I was trying to defy the laws of physics by doing this without blowing something up. I remember thinking how great this sounded, right until the amp stopped working after a few days of rehearsing with it this way. I took the amp to a friend for service and he said I had damaged one or more capacitors. After making the necessary repairs and also swapping out all the tubes for new Groove Tubes (at my request -- like I said, I did not know what I was doing) he gave me the old tubes back and I kept them in a box for 26 years. If you're willing to gamble the cost of shipping, give them a try, if they don't work ship them back (these exact tubes of course) and I'll refund the $60, minus shipping.
If they do work for you, you just got yourself some great-sounding power tubes for a very low price, judging from what RCA Black Plates go for on the 'bay, and what people say about them in 'bay ads.

The total weight of the Fender JP when assembled is 7 lbs. 7 oz.
The Bartolini and Seymore Duncan pickups were bought used here on TB for projects I never got around to starting.

Let me know.
