Had this bass for sale with neck a couple months back, but have since sold the neck.
This is a stock '75 P body that got some extra love with a soldering iron in the neck pocket.
Bad news is that it's ugly, good news is it's covered by the p/g and the pocket is still totally structurally sound.
Pickguard is a repro, but everything else is original. I love the sound of this pickup and was going to put a jazz neck on the body but I'm not much of a builder and bought another bass instead.
This is a very sweet sounding body, and looks pretty good with the guard on as well.
$500/best offer--don't be shy.
Prefer cash but will consider a wizzy cab as partial trade. |

Looks like to me someone put a neck postion pickup on it, and just went a little crazy with the router. It was to be covered by the pickguard anyway, so he wasn't concerned about a neat job. Notice the channel leading to the original pickup cavity? Probably for wiring to the extra pup.
That's my guess anyway.

There was a detailed discussion in the "basses" section a while back and while some guys said they would fix it because it would make them happy, most or all agreed it was fine as it is, just ugly.
Taking offers. The pickups are sweet... |

If that were to really bug someone, a small wood block, a fair amount of sandpaper and a dab of wood glue would fix this for good.
