Aero and Fender 5 string Pickups CUSTOM!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all~

Thanks for checking out the listing. I went through some major custom pickup building with my Fender Reggie Hamilton CS 5 string, both with Fender and Aero Instruments. I wound up with some Nordstrands, but these are some mighty fine pickups that I know someone could be happy with.

1. Fender Split-Coil P Bass V string (standard shape for all Fender Vs with split coils. Tests beautifully, sounds great, very little time installed)

2. Fender Stacked J (Bridge)- one of my favorites. SUPER THROATY. This is the pickup that comes standard with the Reggie Hamilton CS bass. It's a custom stacked J with a big sound to compete with the P split coil.

3. Custom Aero Split Coil for P Bass V- Fits all Fender Vs. Smokin' P bass tone for 5 string. Very vintage sounding without being too dark.

4. Aero Single Coil 5 string J- Pure single coil tone. Loud and clear. Fits Bridge pickup 5 string Fenders.

I can't remember what I paid for any of these. Let's say that I'm open to offers, but $100 shipped per pickup for the Aeros sounds about right. And maybe $70 shipped for the Fenders. Trades are perfectly acceptable. I only have one set of covers for the Split Coil and Bridge pickup. But your Fender covers WILL fit. Thanks again for looking.

How do the Aeros compare to Nordstrands?

The Aero is brighter and a little leaner. It sounds a little more vintage and correct to me. The Nordstrands kind of have a more signature thing. Not exactly fender sounding but very good.
