AUDIOQUEST - NRG-2 LGC COPPER AC POWER CABLES

Sign in to disble this ad
I have two Audioquest power cables available for sale. These cables were used in my rack for my power amp and preamp in conjunction with a Furman power condition. May sound overkill, but I never had a problem with hum and there was absolutely a difference in the sound and tone from my amp. The rack has since been parted out and these cables and the Furman are all that remain.

New, these sell for $105 each. I’m asking $65 each for $120 for both.

Here’s the spill from the manufacturer:

Audioquest's NRG-2 uses solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors in a Self Shielding Counter-Spiral Hyperlitz. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, which is the greatest single source of distortion in an audio cable or an AC power cable. The less complicated grain structure and fewer impurities within LGC copper significantly reduce distortion compared to normal high-purity copper. The Counter-Spiral geometry minimizes conductor interaction while maintaining a fixed low-inductance relationship between conductors.
No matter how perfect an AC power source, distortion is added within any cable carrying AC, especially within any stranded cable. Even the most sophisticated power supplies and filters cannot completely eliminate these upstream irregularities.
NRG-2’s RF Stopper filters Radio Frequency Interference in both directions. This prevents outside interference from entering the equipment and prevents equipment generated interference (from all digital equipment and tuners) from reaching other equipment in the system.

Does running one of these into a power conditioner defeat the purpose?

Not according to the Audioquest literature. They state that the solid conductors comprising the NRG-2 cable prevents strand interaction, which is the greatest single
source of distortion in an audio cables and AC power cables.
