So here is the deal
I've had these pickups in my 76 jazz bass for over 10 years
played a gig over the summer where I thought they were fried by an electrical short
but...
Last night I switched them out with fender pickups and I still have very low output
So i think it maybe a ground issue? 
So........... pickups are up for grabs
dunno what kind they are (can't remember)
I am the 1st owner
bought new from Rudy's Music Stop here in NYC

Or....if you take the pickups to Radio Shack or something, I'm sure one of the sales reps would check them for you.
I doubt the pickups are bad if you have the same issue with anther set.
The problem I noticed with the classifieds here as of late is that no one wants to actually "buy" anything. Most people would like free stuff, not caring that you'd lose your shirt on it.
