Bartolini M55CBC (EMG 45 Shape) 5 String classic Bass pickup Set
I have for sale a Bartolini M55CBC pickup set. They are are the same size as EMG 45's. They are humbucker 4 conductor pickups, in Bartolini's Classic Bass line.
They are in really good shape and lightly used.
I am asking
Price drop bump
thurs is the new friday bump.
Still got 'em. Monday morning blues bump
I'm a little confused. Do these have a distinct field for a wide 5 (19mm / 3/4" spacing), or just an even field across their length?
The reason I ask is you say they are the same size as EMG45's, which typically are for 6 string with 17mm / 2/3" spacing. Which seems opposite of another Bart (different model) sale on the boards saying they're (the other Barts) for 6 string, but the same size as EMG40's, EMG'S typical 5 string pickup for 17mm / 2/3" spacing.
"String width covered is 66mm to 78mm on medium curvature fingerboards"
Bartolini's use a rail design rather than pole pieces, so I believe spacing from string to string is not as much of a concern as total string spacing.
from what I have found online, these will accommodate up to 66mm to 78mm.
Which if you do the math is up to 16.5mm to 19.5mm string spacing.
Hope this helps. let me know if you have any other questions.
*I incorrectly stated these are for up to 72mm spacing. I looked on Bartolinis website and it actually says 66mm - 78mm, so I edited my previous post.
I think the most confusing thing is that total string count with rail designed pickups is not as important as total string spacing.
Bartolini makes 4, 5, and 6 string pickups in different shapes and sizes. so while the pickup housing is bigger the string spacing is geared towards 5 string coverage.
Bartolini does make a 6 string pickup in an EMG 40 and 45 shapes. But they also make a 5 string pickup in the 40 and 45 shapes. but there overall string spacing is different. the 6 string (45 shape) is 72-95mm where the 5 string (45 shape) is for a 66-78mm spacing.
on hold... Deal pending.
