Bartolini Pickups: J set and a P

Sign in to disble this ad
The J set is the 9J1 -S/L. The "deep tone" hum canceling models.

The P is the 8S. Again, it's the "deep tone" model.

Check out what the Bart site says about these pickups. I love 'em, but my main gig requires a more "vintage" tone.

I'd like to trade for some high quality vintage-y pickups. Prolly looking at some single coils. Think Seymour Duncan Antiquity II's or some Fralins.

Right now these are for trade only. Cash either way is cool by me.

Now that I thik aobut it I can't remember if the P is an 8S or 8SU? Doesn't seem to be brittle at all so I think it's an 8S. Just an FYI.

Also, here are what the pickups cost new for reference.

And lastly, all pickups are used but in excellent condition. I'm the second owner of the P and bridge J and the original owner of the neck J.

Would you sell them separately? If so, what are you looking to get out of the 'P' set? Thanks.

Thanks for the offer! Even though I really dig the DiMarzio's I'm just looking for that "single coil" tone. So I'll pass.

I have a set of Fender Jazz pickups that came out of my America 62 reissue Jazz with cloth wiring that I would trade for the Bart J's.
PM me if interested.

Jeez...For some reason I just noticed this offer. Sorry about that. I'm going to pass. From what I've read those aren't what I'm looking for. But thanks!

jb63, you've been PMed.

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll pass. Going to hold out for some Antuquity II's or some Fralins or Nordies. In the meantime the Barts sound really good, just not quite that tone I'm looking for.

Yuppers. Just looking to trade (+/- cash).

I'm trying to avoid selling these and then having to hurry up and buy something as I play on a regular basis and the bass the Barts are loaded in is my #1 (by a large margin).

Plus, these are great sounding pickups. I'm just in the midst of a tone-tweaking-binge that doesn't seem to be losing any momentum!!

I appreciate all the interest and welcome tirekickers. (I'm a tirekicker myself!)

the only thing is.......nord's and fralin's are something i would never trade for bart's.....
barts are only a step up from what you are being offered. i have done a small poll and friends say , yes to a trade for fenders to bart's but no to fralin's to bart's.......when i upgraded last i got nord's.......didn't consider bart's.....but everyone is different and that's good.

Well, Barts are a "sound" as much as anything else. I mean, if you're hankering for that low-mid, slightly compresed tone then Barts are a good way to get there. Barts are a quality product with a killer tone, IF you're looking for that tone.

I went from Antiquity II's to these Barts and don't regret it from a quality of tone standpoint. I just miss that single coil thang. And I'm happy to keep the Barts that I have.

Plus, that why I put "+/- cash". I'm willing to add some money for a trade.
