I purchased this neck on ebay a few months ago. It's a 1994 G&L #8 (1.5” nut width) SB-2 neck, stamped December 20, 1994. With lots of excitement I put it together with a neat-o L-1000 body only to find out that it's got a ski-jump, starting at about the 14th fret. When there's no string tension on the neck it's pretty straight.
The neck is in ok cosmetic shape. There's a couple of ½ inch long indentions on the fingerboard between the 3rd and 4th frets and a few tiny string scrapes on the headstock around the G tuner. The truss rod works fine and the neck has not been modified in any way that's visible. It fit in the neck pocket of my '81 L1000 body perfectly.
I took it to a pro luthier and he said that there's really nothing to do for it without spending a ton of money so I'm throwing it out there to anyone who wants to part with $75 (shipped to lower 48).
