These pickups have the correct pole spacing for a 18mm Fender spec, however, the shells they were in are larger than the actual pickup. The pickups themselves are equal length. (3 5/8") Thats how Seymour Duncan makes these, and then they are stuffed inside various size shells depending on what bass your are installing them in.
Each pickup is 3 5/8" wide. However, the bridge pickup has wider pole spacing (as it should)
If I am not mistaken, these should also fit a Sadowsky V. as long as you have the right size shells.
I am selling these with no shells.
These pickups flat out bark like a bad dog. Read below what the marketing dept @ Seymour says about them. This is supposed to be a remake of the 62 jazz vibe.
My take on these is that they are very responsive, mid aggressive, clear, with a very very solid fundamental. Your B string should roar with these. I had these pickups in three different basses and they never disappointed.
The marketing deets:
"This pickup captures the tone, feel and articulation of a great '62 Jazz Bass. We adjusted the coil geometry and winding configuration to compensate for the different nature of extended range instruments. It's now possible to capture the subtle characteristics of traditional "J-tone" all the way down to the low "B."
Calibrated neck and bridge set. string spacings:
67 mm neck with 70 mm bridge.
FYI, For single coils these are VERY quiet, because Basslines has shielded the pickup with copper tape as you can see in the photos.
