Tried these out in my Ken Lawrence 5 string but the combo isn't quite working for me. The Citrons are AMAZING pick ups, huge low end and really warm natural mids and highs. Had them installed with an Aguilar OBP-3, but I just don't think it was a great combo on this bass.
Bass Player had this to say on the Veillette Centaur bass with the same pickups "...Veillette sourced some particularly groovy electronics for the Centaur: Citron soapbars and an Audere 3ZB preamp. This is the first bass I've seen with Citrons (other than Harvey Citron's own instruments), and I hope it's a trend that expands to other builders. Citron's pickups gleam with gilded treble, supple mids, and focused lows. They're precise and musical-dynamic, but controlled. Paired with the high-fidelity Audere preamp, they shine".
These are the same size as the Basslines, Bartolini, or Nordstrand soapbar pickups. Drop me a line if you are interested and need dimensions. The combo cost me almost $500.
$375 shipped *CITRON PICK UPS SOLD* *AGUILAR PRE SOLD*

Thanks!
