...and here's what we have today (all prices are shipped USPS):
Preamp and pickups pulled from an early 90's Carvin LB75. Controls are volume, blend, bass and treble. Pickups are *probably* J99's. I don't think Carvin had many pickup options at that time, and I believe that was their stock jazz pickup. Everything works, plenty of wire on the pups. The bridge pup is not cosmetically perfect...apparently I had it way to high back then. Ah, the folly of youth. $35
Next, hardware from said Carvin. Black Sperzel locking tuners (3+2, although I've read they can be turned for 4+1 or whatever, but you do the research) and a Wilkinson 5 string adjustable bridge. Personally, I dug the adjustable string spacing concept. Bridge shows some wear, tuners have a ding or two in the black finish. $30 for tuner set, $30 for bridge. BTW, the black dome knobs go with the preamp above, was just too lazy to take the pic again.
Next, a piezo preamp kinda thing pulled from a Modulus fretless 5. The Modulus was a pawn shop purchase, and when I bought it, the B string piezo didn't work. I didn't plan on using the piezo anyway, and pulled it out. I make
no/zero/nada/none claims that this works. Some of them probably do, so maybe someone has a bum one that be changed out. $10
Lastly, a Carvin LB75 body, koa and maple, ebony board. Please note the truss rod is broken. If you think to yourself, "Hey, I can put all those parts on there and have a bass!"...the truss rod is broken. Maybe you're thinking you can clean out YOUR parts drawer and make it a working bass...the truss rod is broken. One last thing:
...the truss rod is broken. $25
