For sale here is the custom Walkabout 'head case' discussed in this thread. Please PM me if you would like to order one. I am getting them fabricated as orders come in... so item ships 2 weeks after purchase. $55 + actual shipping gets you ONE super awesome custom aluminum head case for your walkabout prepped for a finish of your choice. Includes 1 strap handle and all the required mounting hardware. Please specify "brown face" or NOT in your order so I can send the appropriate hardware. (older models use ALL 8-32's for mounting the chassis cover NOT 6-32's like the new models)
PM me if you need more details or have any questions. THANKS.

Chef: 3/8" around the perimeter is more than you would get with a 2-space Anvil style rack; pull the trigger big boy! |

I'll be accepting paypal payments as confirmation of orders... then I'll be sending a payment request for each buyer for shipping cost after it ships out. |

For any of you guys that think this might be pricey, understand this.
Years ago, I had a small fabrication shop that did approx $400K per year.
Pat probably has $20 just in material, shipping, and electricity
He's charging about $35 for his time, equipment where and tear, risk, and a tiny bit of profit. This is a steal, buy one before he comes to his senses (assuming you need/want it). |

1/8 stainless (left) and anodized aluminum (right):
I think the Aluminum is a better match color/sheen etc... its essentially the exact same as the front handles, and bit 'whiter' than the front panel with no brush to the finish.
The stainless 'disappears' because its so reflective.. and its stiffer and heavier. But it does match the input switches and chrome hardware on the front panel. just my 2 cents These are $40 shipped conus - stainless or aluminum

I am really interested in both as I have been searching and these are good prices.
Are either of these still up for sale.
I would do either and possibly both.
I live in Texas 79932.
Thanks,
Clay wcfiske3@yahoo.com as well. |

Put a tape on one and realized my metal guy somehow forgot to make the new one's bigger for 3/8 airspace! As if explaining it to him in person and supplying him with detailed drawings wasn't enough to get into his head.
He has already remade them on his dime and I'm picking them up tomorrow morning. If anyone wants 1/4 airspace... let me know cuz I have 3 of them.
Thanks to everyone for your patience! FYI, Looks like these will be going out this friday morning.

I'll be putting some handwork into these tomorrow countersinking etc... and shipping them all out the following morning. I think if a guy new what he was doing sanding/polishing etc, a clearcoat finish could look sweet!!

FYI: I just found out (thanks saltymonkey) that the chassis mounting screws on older WA models are all 8-32's. New WA's have all 6-32's except the four at the front in 'rackmount' position which are still 8-32's. If you have ordered a case and you have an older model with the beefier 8-32 mounting screws... you will need to buy the appropriate hardware and ream the holes in the case with a drill bit. sorry bout the added DIY there folks! All new units will be fabricated for their respective model. Thanks! |
