Sign in to disble this ad
For sale - a neat little packaged kit I bought on eBay for installing threaded inserts to bolt your neck to your body. I finished my build and ended up not using this.

***4 threaded inserts
***4 stainless steel bolts
***1/4" drill bit
***15/16 18 tap
***hex wrench and screw for installing inserts

Everything you need is included along with good instructions w/ photos. Use with your regular neck plate, looks stock. These kits go for $29.99. Save a couple bux - $25 postage paid check or Money Order please.

Bump, I installed one of these and it really made my neck sing. Gave me more noticeable sustain, and I could feel the notes more on the body and the neck. Even over a fresh set of holes and neck screws, which was what it replaced. Crazy how much difference a properly seated neck joint that wont be able to budge makes.

So would this work on a neck with pre-drilled holes? I have an Allparts fretless jazz neck that already has mounting holes in the heel but since it's the vintage-style truss rod adjustment that requires removing the neck this might be a really sound investment, no pun intended.

- thanks

Yes it would, you'd be drilling out the existing holes and tapping in the inserts. They actually have glue on the outside threads to hold them once in place. Pretty serious little kit.

I got lucky, the neck pocket fit on my build is so snug that I'm going to leave well enough alone. I haven't screwed anything up yet and I want to keep it that way!
