Dean European Custom Select neck-thru project - $175

Asking $175 incl. shipping

For those of you who are not aware of these basses, these early 90's European Custom Select Edge basses were crafted in the same Czech factory that Spector used for their first Euro models. It is a 5 piece maple neck with walnut stringers, and a wenge fingerboard. Alder wings and a flame maple cap on the front. The neck profile is slim and the nut is 1.625"
There are a couple dings shown in the pics on the bottom edge from a previous owner, but it is in very good shape overall The color is more of a transparent cherry than the reddish photos can show. Overall this is a very well crafted instrument and an incredible bargain at this price (IMHO )

As you can see, I am selling it without the pickups or electronics, which I sold earlier this year. The pickup routes are EMG-35 size and, along with any EMG-35's, Duncan SSB-4D's will fit in there, as well as some Nordstrand models including the Big-Splits, Big Singles and Dual coils. I am not totally sure, but Bartolini may make an EMG-35 sized pickup as well. It will accommodate a 4 knob preamp with a panel jack on the side.

I shielded the cavity with the StewMac shielding kit and it's an ok job. I enlarged the Pot holes to accomodate full size pot shafts. I discovered in the course of working on this bass that I would need long shaft pots, so keep that in mind when planning the electronics setup.

Bump for an awesome bass!!! I've had many basses and for some reason, this is the only one I've kept and never considered trading. I am literally in the process of shopping for pickups to give it the sound it deserves. IMO, this neck is one of the most playable necks for basses in this price range. COOL.

I had the bolt-on fiver and these are really well made, nice playing basses. If this were a fiver, it'd be mine!

It the only thing wrong what it's missing pickups and electronics? Neck OK? If so, I'll take it.
