I have a set of 5 stringers. I only use the lowest 4 of the set. The highest string, g, is uninstalled. The set is cut for a precision, but with lots of winding around the post, so should have lots of length left.
The DR's are too thumpy for me, not much sustain. I'd like to try something darker with a little more sustain but not as much as rounds.
I would like to try a set of 5 string tapewounds. I understand most people don't use 5 string tapes, but thought it would be worth a try. Maybe you have a set you didn't like. LaBella's would be my first choice, but I think GHS makes a set as well.
