F/S Sadowsky P/J Pickups

Sadowsky P/J pickups. I bought a set here on TB and liked them enough to buy for a project that never took off. I'd need to route the bridge pickup route on the bass larger to accomodate these. The pickups aren't any bigger than Fender pups, but the bridge route is the size of a neck p/u which presents a problem. I don't have a router or the time or money to get the route fixed so I'm putting these up for sale.

They've been soldered but probably have about an hour of playing time on them tops. Well, the P-bass pickup does. Great big clear sound. These are standard pickup sizes and I've dropped them into Fender sized routes no problem. I never trimmed the leads on these either.

$130 shipped to the lower 48

THESE FIT NORMAL FENDER PICKUP ROUTES! The only reason I'm getting rid of these is because they screwed up the route on the body with the wrong pickup size and I can't afford to get it fixed and now I'm in need of cash money!

Will these fit in a Fender P-bass special without having to use router?

Yeah. The only reason why they didn't fit in my bass was because when I had the body routed for the bridge pickup I gave them a seymour duncan neck pickup to make the template off of. Unfortunately, stupid me, I didn't realize that the pickups were different sizes.

And doubly unfortunate, I can't even just widen the route, as the routes for the pickup ears are in different locations, so I'd have to reroute the hole and then plug up the old ear holes or whats left of them.

What'll most likely happen, is I'll fill the route with putty and just have a P-bass pickup in there.

Sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I know what I'm buying before I make you an offer. When you bought these on TB were they new in the box...are these passive PU...do they need a Sadowsky pre-amp to maximize the sound...do they come with the PU covers..is there a model number I can look up to get more info? Thanks Paul

Not a problem. I had bought a used set on TB, really liked them, and then bought a second set new from Sadowsky. This is the second set, which I'm only selling because I screwed up the bridge route on the body and I don't have the time or the money to get it fixed.

These are passive pickups and you do not need a preamp for them. They come with their Sadowsky branded pickup covers. There really isn't much info on the Sadowsky site either. The pickups are hum canceling though.
