The neck pocket looks like 2.5" wide. 4.25" long. The neck plate screw holes are farther apart than a Fender so there would have to be some modification to be made. I would love to see a Jazz style neck on this bass body.

body wood

The wood looks like mahogany but it is not. Most all of the BB's were alder........this one is made of a wood called Nato. Also most of the BB's were 33 7/8's scale length not 34. BB 300's are some of the greatest buys in the world of bass.........the necks, bridges, pickups, and that Nato (first cousin to mahogany) is outstanding. Many acoustic guitars use Nato as a tonewood.

Halegroove (clark kent was superman 's alias.....so I'm thinking you might be a Greg uh......uh.......uh......something)

By the way, this guy is one of the best bass players I have ever heard.

Question for you........in church for some reason....the only pickups that really cut through in my basses are the EMG's........normally I don't like them because they are too treble-ish and almost brittle sounding sometimes............but they work better than anything else I've tried...........I've tried a lot of basses down there...........so Why are they working when Bartolini, Alembic, Diamarzio, and others don't??????
PS sorry to distract from the P body for sale.

True enough on the 33 7/8" scale but these bodies will accept and work with a 34" neck. Most all bridges have enough play to compensate the extra 1/8".

Neck adjust

You are correct............the bridge saddles allow for the 1/8 inch.

And thanks for the PM.

Will trade for a good gig bag/double or single

I do need a good double or possibly single bass gigbag that I would be willing work a deal for. It has to be a one that protects well.
