Please note: this is a feeler for a specific reason. I won't sell this body unless a certain item I'm negotiating on works out. So until further notice, this ad is to determine if there's interest at my asking price. If the item I'm looking to buy falls through, then this body stays with me. Thanks in advance for understanding - I know this kind of thing is annoying, but most of y'all know how it is.
So....what we have here is an early '70s Fender P body that's been around the block a few times. It was routed by someone a long time ago for a neck pickup and some other mods (see photo - yeah, it's ugly under the guard). When I bought it it was stripped. A friend of mine sprayed it with Shell Pink nitro, but it's a pretty amateur job. Dings weren't filled, etc. and it's actually starting to flake a little in a couple spots. The color looks awesome on stage, but it's no beauty queen up close.
Electronics, etc.: Pickup is vintage but non-original (probably an old Dimarzio), and as far as I know nothing else is original either. Guard is a very old WD.
Now, the good part is that I've had this built up with a nice old neck on it and it was a hell of a player. In fact, I used this as my main gig bass for over a year until recently. You could do what I did with it, or you could have someone restore it the right way.
Please ask any questions, and please be patient with me while I try to determine if I'm really selling it. The asking price is $350 shipped. (Obvious, but just to be clear: the neck pictured in the first photo is not for sale. And neither are the knobs.)
