Feeler: X-Wire wireless system

Sign in to disble this ad
I have one of these gathering dust, and felt like it was a shame that it wasn't getting used. I bought it new many years ago, and have used it maybe half a dozen times - it's been sittling in the rack in my closet for literally about 6 years. Anyone know what these are going for nowadays? I'd like to hang onto it, but I just can't see a use for a wireless system any time soon ...

I've heard that they go anywhere from $500 to $800 ... can't find any on eBay though.

I can post pics on request, but it is basically in brand new condition. Works and sounds great!

Jeff

bump for you

Do you have any specs, and how does this system compare (if you know) to the higher end Shure systems? I'm not sold on going wireless, almost everyone seems to agree that tone suffers unless you go very, very high end on the wireless system. However, if the X-Wire fits that mold (of being a great system), I might be interested.

You might be a touch late on this. While prices have been in the $500 to $600 range recently, the advent of the new X2 system at about $400 street may impact the value. See your PM.

I'd love your advice on this - you know my taste in high-end gear. I'll send a pm.

Bump for the thread in any case.

Oops. I forgot the advice in my PM. I'd wait until the X2 comes out and a few people have had a chance to try it out and review it. Then buy one if it gets good reviews.

On the other hand, the original X-wire is proven and well-regarded, and there's one that may be for sale here. You may just want to go with that for now. If you get it for a good price, you may be able to sell it later for little, if any, loss.

Thanks much - I appreciate your insight.

Bump again for the thread...and a PM on the way.
