Fender '62 P Bass pickups, brand new (Adam's Spring Sale Part 2!)

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale: a BRAND NEW set of Fender '62 originals p bass pickups. They are in the box, have all the foam padding, mounting screws are still in the little bag... only been out a handfull of times to look at. Perfect condition, never installed (obviously). Bought for somewhere around $80 at GC (I had to pay them to ship it to me) and they go for around $80 (NOT including shipping) on ebay. Guitar Center's regular price is $70, but after tax and shipping (you have to special order them) it's going to cost about $80 anyways. So I'm giving them to you for $70 SHIPPED ConUS. I'll be happy to ship elseware, but will charge extra. Willing to trade for a set of Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pounder pickups in similar condition. I will also trade for a bridge-position SJB-3 Quarter Pounder (the jazz bass version of the QPs) in similar condition as well. Not only are you saving money, but you'll get it in a fraction of the time (guitar center took 3 months to ship to me).

About these pickups: if you want that classic, thumpy P-Bass sound, these are the pickups for you. Drop them in a MIM and string it with some flats, and you'll pretty much nail the Jamerson tone. I've played several basses with these pups in them, and they really do sound great; I also have heard numerous great things about them. Why am I selling? I'm having to limit myself to only one bass ($$ issues) and for my band, we have a more modern sound, so I can't use these pickups at the moment. Check out the numerous, high praising review of this pickup; I don't think you'll regret buying it. Pics to follow in the next post...
