Fender Jazz - Custom Varitone Circuit

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Gang,

Just purchased this from a fellow TB'er last week. Installed it into my jazz and the tone possibilities are mind boggling. Easy drop-in application. No soldering required. Just attach your existing pickup wires to the convenient screw down posts and you're set. Took me about 20 minutes from start to finish (and I am not mechanically gifted!).

The controls are as follows:

Layout:
Master Volume: Push/Pull for Series/Parallel
3 way Switch for pickup selection. Bridge/Neck/Both
Master Tone: Push/Pull for varitone/varitone bypass
6 position varitone rotary knob.
Lots of tonal options in a passive package

Here's a quick description of the Varitone control:
A 6 POSITION VARITONE ROTARY SWITCH WITH DIFFERENT TONE CAPACITORS:
1 SLIGHT TREBLE CUT HI MID
2 MORE TREBLE CUT MORE MID
3 LOW MID
4 WARMER MID TONE
5 DARKER TONE (MID SCOOP)
6 DEEPER MID SCOOP TONE.

That said, it's more tone possibility than I currently need, so off she goes.

Here's the original sale thread:

FS: Fender Pickups, Control Plate, Custom Varitone Control Plate

And a link to a video demo:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3TNkYQZ67Y

Please follow the original links for pics...it looks exactly as it did when I received it (which is essentially brand new!).

Asking only what I paid for it...

$100 Shipped to CONUS. Paypal preferred.
