The good- this neck plays better than any fernandes neck that you would get on one of their jazz basses. the playability is up there with anything. the neck has had the fretboard trued, re-radiused to vintage 7.25 radius (these usually have a flat board) and vintage size frets installed. a new nut was also installed. the results are boutique style, flat, nearly zero relief neck with low action at the bridge. you can see in the pics the set up thats on this neck right now. the neck has also been finished in tru oil so it feels like an old nitro neck. i recently just sold a mim jazz neck for 275 that had the same process done that didnt sound nearly as good as this neck. this one sounds deep like a good old fender. the mim neck was kind of thin sounding.
the bad-unlike the mim neck, the cosmetics of the job arent very good. when the board was trued, enough rosewood was taken off that new slots had to be cut for the frets. some of them are too deep in the upper register. they are filled but visible. the slot for the nut was a little wider than the nut so there is some filler there as well. however the nut is held in place with a few drops of super glue and its stable and not going anywhere.
overall, the good far outweighs the purely cosmetic bad. the playability is fantastic and the tone is there in this neck. for the price of a squire vintage modified neck, you're getting something that plays and sounds awesome.

oh yeah, forgot to mention its a fender width neck. ive put fernandes necks on fender bodies and fender necks on fernandes bodies. the body that its on in these pics is a 70's squier vintage modified and bolted on perfectly with no issues.
Traded my 93 MIM jazz straight-up for a MIJ Fernandes jazz bass in white many years ago at a shop near me......I spent an hour or so comparing the two...the Fernandes had better tone, feel, and construction.....wish I was still a J-bass player! HA!
