Free Parts!: Complete Peavey Cirrus 5 Minus the wood :)

Sign in to disble this ad
Well....
I bought a Cirrus 5 BXP exactly one month ago & after a few tweaks was totally happy with it.....
Until it fell & the headstock broke

Anyways....so as to not make this a total loss I decided to strip the bass & offer the parts to someone who is building a bass & could use the parts.
FREE!!!!!

You heard me...

I said free....I'll pay shipping
(US or Canada)

I have every part from the bass except for the body & neck
(well it's a neckthrough)

-VFL Pickups
-3 Band Preamp complete with pots,
output jack & jackplate (black).
-5 Black Tuners (3+2)
-5 Black Hipshot O-ring knobs
-5 Black Individual bridges w/ferrules for
thru-bridge stringing
-2 Black Strap Buttons
-Foil backed control cavity cover
-Trussrod cover
-All screws (black)

and whatever I may have forgotten to list.

I reserve the right to decide which TBer gets the goods, so please PM me & tell me why the parts should come your way.
Please no parts horders that are going to throw them in a drawer or box or resell them.

Let's make some good come out of this

The break is pretty ragged & splintered & well....it's a BXP....I can buy a B-stock on americanmusical.com for less than a repair would cost, or a USA Cirrus for not much more.

Just to make it clear.....I'm going to choose someone to get all of the parts. I don't want to ship this stuff to 10 different people....If you can use everything then send me your PM.
Thanks Guys!

Bryan, None of my posts were directed towards you man

Sorry I had to make those 2 clarification posts guys....
I suspect the ones they were aimed at won't get it anyways & the ones that do understand the spirit in which I posted this don't need the posts.

Thanks everybody....keep the PMs coming

Maybe ask the receiver to send a small donation to a charity of your choice? Keep the good karma going!

I'm going to give this until 6 pm tonight. Then I will PM the person that gets the parts. If that person doesn't mind, I will post the story behind why they are getting them.

Here's where the parts are going guys.....

I recieved a PM from a very selfless TBer that requested them for a friend rather than for himself. I thought this was great & I also like the fact that it may perpetuate an 11 year old girl's love for Bass Thanks to Jauqo III-X for the opportunity to give!
Here's the PM:

"I have a friend who just got two body blanks a couple of weeks ago(an alder one and an ash one), And he is in the process of building his own bass. He is going to build a 34" scale 5 string because he's come to learn through trial and error that a 34" scale fits him better. He will more than likely at some point give the bass to his 11 year old daughter who is a very talented bassist.

And he happens to be a Peavey fan.

He really doesn't have the money for the hardware, pickups, electronics, etc. and this would be an incredible help."

Thanks Everyone! Hopefully this will serve as a bit of inspiration for someone

Heh, I just saw a selfless TBer list those same parts for sale on eBay for $200!

In all seriousness my wife and I were talking about how people just aren't that nice to each other any more. Barely neighborly, much less friendly to strangers. Once while on business travel years ago a guy at the training class called his friends to see if I could come hang out with them. End result: two total strangers took me in, let me stay the night with them, and partied all over San Francisco together. And it was one of their birthdays! Who does invites total strangers anywhere anymore, much less on their birthday. Either one of us could've axe murdered the others. Instead we had a great time together.

Big props. It's stuff like that and stuff like this that gives me hope for the future of humanity!
