Do your own fret leveling.

Stew Mac Diamond Fret Leveler - I believe it's the 800 grit one.

Stew Mac Quarter Round Fret File

Used on probably 4 basses. Work fantastic if you follow simple instructions available here on talkbass or other sites.

Lets sell them both together for $50 shipped

How long do these tools last...would you consider work on 4 basses being say 20% of there life expectancy or do they last for hundreds of basses? Thanks.

Not at all. No wear at all on them. You can see some variance in the finish on the fret leveler, but it's not changed it's effectiveness at all.

I could not see how someone could wear things out unless that's all they did every week.

You could literally take the frets down to the level of the wood if you wanted to with the Diamond Fret Leveler. Normal tendency for new users is to take more than needed off.
