I have for sale a body from a 1972 Fender Precision. A couple of weeks ago I discovered what I thought was a finish crack in the back of this body was actually a crack in the wood.
I just got it back from my local guitar shop to see what they could do with it and they said they couldn't get the crack to move, which means they couldn't get any glue down into the crack to repair it. However, they also told me that because they can't get it to move, it is a good thing, because it means it's stable....but they wouldn't go so far to say it would be stable forever....maybe yes, maybe no.
Anyway, with the exception of the crack (and a small ding on the upper horn), the body is in great shape. It is worn where it is supposed be and has that 70's vintage look with it's three tone sunburst finish. There are no extra routes or any other modifcations.
I've attached a couple of pics of the body. To be honest, it's not like the crack is huge or anything...it looks like a finish crack...but I want to be as up front as possible.
Price is $325 shipped to the lower 48, payable via PayPal or USPS Money Order. I'm not opposed to shipping out of the U.S., so just contact me for a shipping quote.
I'm not really looking for any trades, there really isn't anything I need (even though I'd love to find another Sterling), but if you think you have a deal I just can't pass up, just let me know.
I did part the rest of this bass out and I still have a few parts left....the original "tail" logo case, original bridge and string tree...and I'd certainly be willing to trade the whole works toward a EBMM Sterling.
