Up for sale is a vintage 1977-1978 Fender Precision neck, featuring a maple fretboard and original tuners. In good shape for a 30+ year old neck, and it would be perfect for a late 70's P relic/restoration project. Serial on the headstock is S87XXX, which should place it at either '77 or '78. Frets have good amount of life left, as far as I can tell.
The neck was recently adjusted/straightened by a pro luthier, and the only issues I could find are as follows:
1. E string tuner stem is slightly bent, but does not affect the mechanism or tuning. Cosmetically, not noticeable until you get extremely close.
2. There's a dime-sized chip in the poly finish on the back of the neck about 2/3 of the way down on the skunk stripe (see pic).
3. Neck is drilled for a 4-bolt attachment. I pulled this neck off a 1970 Jazz body, and for some reason, I don't see holes drilled for a 3-bolt attachment.
If you'd like to see more detailed pics, please PM with your email. Price: $425 shipped in the CONUS. No overseas, please. |
