FS Aero Y Jazz Bass style 6 string pickups

Sign in to disble this ad
Almost new set of Aero Y's type 4 A 6 string pickups with exposed pole pieces for sale. They were custom made to fit my Yamaha trb6p in February of this year. Unfortunately I measured the string spacing not accurate enough so I ordered a new set and let this one go.
The string spacing is 18mm over the bridge- and 17mm over the neck pickup. You can see it on the picture, that the E and C strings are not in the middle of the poles of the pickups. The pickups covers dimensions are 5-1/2"L x 0.9375"W.
I paid 450$ including shipping and taxes and I let them go for 300$ shipped (PayPal only). Please note I will ship them to the USA only at beginning of July because I will stay in the US for vacation from the 7th of July on.
Thanks for looking

I've noticed that people can't find enough information about the pups. The pups are Type 4A here is the explanation from Larry J Pollack of Aero instruments:
"The difference between the Type 4 & 4A is the articulation. The Type 4 is a singular rectangular pole piece with the same magnetic field area as the two pole piece per string system. The Type 4 feels similar to the standard Type 1 (which isn't available for 6 string) but has it's highest output over the magnet center, which makes it perfect for fretless, tappers, and players that use a lot of harmonics. The Type 4A has the same characteristics as the Type 4 but the field is narrower, and therefore, the string can come off the magnet (in the same way as a guitar player can bend the string off the pole piece). This has the feeling of the note stopping and starting more quickly than with the Type 4, i.e. it seems more articulate."
Hope this helps

Aero TRB6 replacement pickups

Hey there,

Do you still have those pickups for sale?
I might be interested.

With kind regards, Ad.
( From The Netherlands in Europe)
I'm on vacation from the end of the week until the 20th of next month.

great pickups!

Larry (Aero) makes excellent pu's! My K6jd (dual coil) is a beast. If the measurements work for someone, this is a great deal!
