Apparently these are microphonic. I do notice that when I tap on the covers to check - it's never been an issue for me on the gig at all.
IME these pickups are dark and bold. They have that "medicine ball" quality - very beefy - true to their reputation. Not necessarily the most versatile or modern choice. But I had some really great tone nights with them.
I'd love to keep them around - never know when I might wind up with a J-bass that needs a testosterone shot.
But I'm having a rough fiscal month - might as well do some spring cleaning, let another TB'er enjoy them.
