FS: Bartolini J/MM (Custom MM)

For sale is a set of Bartolini J/MM pickups that came out of my Kinal SK5 bass. I replaced the pickups with a custom set of Kent Armstrongs. I was not very fond of the J neck pickup, but the MM pickup I'm listing sounded great. However, it was a little too short for my string spacing (19mm at the bridge), so I needed a slightly longer pickup.

The J pickup is a CBJD with #1 windings. It's the neck position pickup, in the 91mm length. The back of the pickup says 59CBJD-S1 (RC).

The MM pickup is a very rare model that Mike Kinal has specially made for his basses. He calls it his "full-range" pickup. The model number that is listed on the back is not found in the Bartolini catalog. It is model MM52J4. This pickup has a very clear and full sound, plenty of lows and highs.

Both pickups can be used on a four string or a five string bass. If used for a five string, this would work best on a string spacing of no more that 18mm at the bridge.

Price is $60 for the CBJD neck pickup and $110 for the MM bridge pickup. If you want both pickups the set will go for $155.

The pickups are in fairly new condition, but the bridge pickup has picked up some shiny spots, I can only assume that's from where the string was. Nonetheless, this MM pickup is hard to come by.

Sunday Bump! You won't find another Bart MM like this unless you buy a Kinal or wait forever for a custom order. Will work for four or five string bass.

Sunday bump. These are going on eBay soon if I don't get an offer from a TBer.

PM me best offers.

Will consider a trade for a Dimarzio Model PJ set or a Fishman Full Circle upright pickup (both for different basses than where the Barts came from).
