I took these out of my Lakland 44-01 a while ago. I bought the bass new and only had these in for a couple of months so they are in like new condition. The MK-1 pickups have the same dimensions as the MK4CBC pickups listed here:
http://www.bartolini.net/information...bass_pu_s4.htm

1-11/32" x 4-1/4" - 1.35 x 4.25 inches
31.5mm x 108mm

$70 shipped.

What did you replace them with and how would you compare? Just curious.

I replaced these with Nordstrand Big Singles and an Audere classic preamp. Completely different sound as you would expect.

Yes, this is the Bartolini MK-1 preamp that is installed in Lakland XX-01 basses.

Is the MK-1 used in both 4 and 5 string basses? I'm interested in the pickups if you will sell separately and if they would work for 5 string. I had a 55-01 and I believe it was the same pickups.

PM me a price on just the pickups if you are interested in selling separate.

I believe the cover is the same size, but I doubt they are the same pickups. The pickups are sealed in the cover so I can't pop them out to see. However, I don't see how the poles would line up correctly if they were meant for 4 or 5 strings. Maybe someone can chime in with more info if I am wrong.

Thanks Aaron, I'll do some research then get back to you. If they are the type of pickup that has the bar instead of the individual pieces they will work. Some makers are going this route in order to avoid having to make 3-4 different sized pickups, they just use the same one.
