FS: CrossRock Gig Bag brand new

Brand New Cross Rock Gigbag $70

I got this CrossRock bag today from Sam Ash.. It isn't a bad bag at all , however like the RockBag I just sold here and the Access I just bought here (man I dig this place.. ) it still fits my J24Vbass kind of tight so I am sending it back since that is my main bass at the moment.. My Schecter, the '77 J and of course the SR505 which is the runt of the litter all fit the bag fine but that Jazz which is a little over 47" long is too tight for my liking. I took some pics. If I didn't have that Access bag I just got here a few weeks back I'd keep this and use it for my other basses, but since the Access is too small for my main bass as well I decided to use it (the Access) with the Schecter or the 77 because I like it so much and it offered great protection I didn't want to let it go, and get another bag for my main bass.

This bag sits well in my hand with either of the basses. The overall construction was decent. The zippers were big and they worked very smoothly. Note the two pockets up by the headstock. Both pockets open from the top down, giving you a pretty deep pocket. The pockets are pretty roomy.

Front - That whole front compartment is a recessed pouch that is reinforced and opens up and there is another horizontal zipper in the front as you can see.

Inside Front Pocket - There is a padded laptop slot inside the front pocket, unfortunately it was not big enough to fit my 9.0 in there, but of course other stuff would do just fine. That pocket is also reinforced in the front of the bag, probably with reinforced cardboard, I don't know, but it was hard and it "knocked when I rapped it with a knuckle. The front zipper compartment is big enough to put some sheet music in as long as it wasn't like a 50 page binder.

Handle-The handle was comfortable in my hand and pretty solid. I have had some bad experiences with RoadRunner bag handles.. .

Bottom-

One thing I didn't like was that there were no rubber feet on the bottom of the bag.

Back-The straps were comfortable and there is a little pocket on the LH starp for an MP3 player. That's what that zipper is.

The bag held the body of the bass well and there is a strap to secure the neck.

As I said it was kind of snug on my J24V.

...but the 77 standard sized J and the Schecter SSS5 fit very well.

Overall I actually liked the bag. I came across something better .. that cost more but that I knew was 48" long and would have no problems fitting my bass .. so I am going to send this back to Sam Ash unless someone here wants to buy it for what I paid for it. I'll post it here for a few days and see.. of course since it is new the original warranty would be in effect if there were issues down the road, but over all it is a good bag. The padding is 20mm by the way. One thing I liked about that Rockbag was that the padding was 30mm.. but then it was made for a Warwick which from the ones I picked up are pretty beefy basses, but this padding is the same as many other bags from Gator to SKB to Fender...
