For sale is a custom bass body built by a fellow TB'er - unfortunately I don't have the thread anymore. The body is very comfortable (similar to a jazz bass) made of beautiful mahogany with gorgeous cocobolo facings. The body even sports two small star inlays in mother of pearl and the control cavity plate is also cocobolo. Electronics are two Fred Hammon Darkstars (very quiet for single coils) with an onboard Bartolini preamp. I'm not sure of the preamp model name, but the controls are: volume, pickup balance, treble, mid, bass; with push/pull for active/passive operation (no knobs on the pots - it didn't come with any). I believe that the bridge is a Hipshot. This body fits any standard four bolt Fender bass neck - I had an 80's Schecter replacement neck on here and it fit and set up perfectly. The body and electronics sounded awesome when assembled, and the preamp is a really good fit for coaxing some great tones. Even with the neck pickup solo'ed, the tone is fat and authoritative without any mud. Like I'd read over the years, Darkstars really pick up the nuances of your playing, and even your right hand position has a huge impact on the tone. No trades unless you have a Bag End S15. SOLD!
