this is what i have left after my epic search for the most accurate vintage sounding jazz bass replacement pickup set.
"J" pickups discussion and comparisons.
the neck pickup is a custom wound lollar that i originally ordered for my 62 jazz. the bridge pickup is from a seymour duncan antiquity 2 set. i went through a bunch of different sets to get this one which isnt wound as hot as most of the antiquity 2's ive come across. these two pickups are the same specs so they while they are two different makers, theyre not a thrown together afterthought. both are alnico 5/plain enamel/flush poleieces. i had to custom order the lollar to get those specs which was 120 for the single neck pickup.
i sold every other set that i knew wasnt working for me and after getting the duncan bridge pickup to match with the lollar, i had planned on saving them for a future project. the reality is that between my 62,78 and 75 ri jazzes, im probably not going to pick up another 4 string jazz bass.
the street price on these two pickups was over 200 bucks. im asking 140 shipped and insured via usps for this set. ive sold two different antiquity sets for 150 shipped and they went fast. this set is some serious legit fender tone.
