Will the VT1 not run off regular 9volt power? I'm really interested but it could be a hassle to have to sort out a power supply for NZ power if it won't do 9volt.

Dunno

EDIT: Let me check real quick, I'm not sure.

Double EDIT: Nope. You need the adapter that will come with it.

You sure? I just found this on the site...

The VT1-Std-Bass runs from a 9-12VDC 500mA (12VDC 1200mA recommended) supply via a standard 2.1mm socket, there is an internal switch mode power supply which generates the the 24V Plate voltage.

hey joe(bassbmx)!
i do remember from the manufacturer that it needs its own supply. everyone else here had problems when using others. (but i do realise that it was the uk manufactured version so maybe this is different)

im eyeing it too =p since the first time he put it up! be sure to bring it up to auckland if you get it. =p

I just tried using a couple of 9 volt adapters, but I also don't think any of them were 500ma, so it might work.

Also, this is one of the UK versions. I got it in a trade a while back, and the guy who gave it to me said that you need this adapter. But after reading the product description again, I'm not quite sure.

Hey bro! We'll need to have a get together when I'm next up. I have a few new pedals to show you.

It says on the site that it will work anywhere in the world on 9-12 volt power so I can't see why it would be a problem - standard size plug, centre negative (I'm guessing) and only pulls 500 milliamps.

How much would shipping to New Zealand be?

Let me get back to you on that. I'm guessing 5 maybe 10 bucks more.

It will need about 400mA but the connector is center positive not centre negative like Boss type pedals. will work at 9V but there is a higher output level at 12V. Needs to be a well regulated power supply or it will hum, good ones are very low noise even on high gain settings.
