SOLD!!: EMG 40DC, 40JV5, 40J, & 40P5 Brand new!

Hey, gang. Let me clarify. I had an EMG 40DC installed in my main bass about two years ago. I never had any problems with it, but since EMG's are so easy to swap with their quick connect system, I ordered a bunch of other 40 series models to try out. Long story short, I'm keeping a 40CS in my bass and selling the rest. So the 40DC is about two years old, but looks brand new. I put it in the CS box so it still comes with everything a new EMG pickup would.

So, to summarize:
The DC is two years old, but comes in a box with all parts & accessories.
The others are all brand new used for about 10 minutes each in my bass and then put back in the boxes. All parts and accessories included. The 40JV5 I didn't even unwrap because I found out later is has individual pole pieces as opposed to bar magnets and I wasn't sure how that would work with my narrow string spacing (16.5mm).

Prices (all include shipping to the lower 48):
40DC: $70
40JV5, 40J, & 40P5: $80 (each)

These all go for about $108 new plus shipping, so this is a considerable savings. Thanks for looking and PM me or post with any questions.

The 40DC and the 40J are sold. The 40P5 and 40JV5 (which I believe is a custom order) are still available.

Well, the 40J is gone. But on the sound front, it sounds like what you'd expect and EMG J to sound like. It's balanced across the spectrum, maybe a little more growl/upper mids than most. It's the same as EMG's regular J set, but in the 40 size case.

The 40P5 was actually my favorite sounding one when I recorded it direct through my mixer to a CD burner. But when I gigged with it last weekend and I didn't think it represented my low B well. Maybe it was just that room, I don't know. It helped when I changed the pickup height to favor the bass side, but I ultimately swapped it out for the 40CS.

Still, the 40P5 (in the music-man position in my bass) sounded great. A great mid-burp sound. It didn't have that EMG clackiness that some people don't like and it really cut through without being obnoxious.

Does the 40P5 include all the cables and pots it comes with if I bought new? and the installation diagram?

Yep, everything that was in the box is included. I didn't even take anything out. You can just slide the pickup out without disturbing the rest of the contents. That's what I did, so I'm not even sure what else is in there. I'm on vacation right now, but I can open up the box when I get back and list all the contents.

Bumpity bump. The 40P5 and 40JV5 are still available, but I've got some interest in the 40P5 . . .
