The P/J's are very clear and with with the BQC flat, you an have amazing super transparent tone with squeaky-clean articulate clarity of every note in the bass's range. For rock music, engineers have really liked these pickups because they're very easy to mix.
The BQC really makes the P/J's some of the most flexible pickups out there. With the EQ flat and neck pickup favored, you'll get a modern punchy tone. Roll off some treble, sweep the semi-parametric mid frequency selector to 250hz and give yourself a low-mid boost for a smoother punchy sound. There are also internal switches to set the frequency for the "highs" pot. The active bass eq knob is tuned really musically. Take some time to learn the BQC and you'll probably find (at I did) that it's extremely flexible.
So why am I selling these? Ask me about my current projects and gigs if you're interested. PEDALS

1) Behringer BTR-2000 Rack Tuner - Works just as well as my guitarist's Korg tuner. Great condition, has been in my hard-case rack since it left the box. $60 shipped Trade Interest: Pedaltrain PT-Pro Someone sent me a PM asking what I didn't like about the Pulse Synth. This is a great question and I know that there's barely any information out there about this pedal right now, and even less (a thread and a half?) on how it sounds with bass.
This was my response... I actually like it a lot and it has a ton of character to it. The sound is completely amazing and the effect is really versatile. You can get nasally sounds and fat sounds by adjusting the PW and Shift frequency knobs. You can then modulate between the two frequencies with an internal LFO that gives you control of speed and depth.
If you engage the ENV switch, you modify the pulse synth via your envelope trigger, so louder / more intensity will give you a faster rate and vice versa. The Pulse Synth's modulation can give you subtle whirring sounds, fast vibrato-type sounds, mild pulse-shift settings, radical frequency oscillating, snail-speed frequency shifting, etc. It's very powerful and all the controls have a huge range to them.
Ok so why am I selling it right?
There are a few reasons but they are all pretty specific to my situation and don't have much to do with the pedal. I'll point out that I have to maintain a suboctave in all of my sounds, so any other waveshaping or octave pedals run in a parallel blend loop with the BOD.
1) When I run it in parallel with the BOD and play fast and staccato parts, I can mute the BOD before the Pulse Synth. This would pretty much be true of all dirt boxes except for gated fuzzes with precise control of the gating. It's a cool effect and gives the downbeats more emphasis, and makes it sound like two different people are playing sometimes. But for my style and needs, I need it to be even more gated and I know that's impossible.
2) I recently bought a Moog MP-201 Controller. It's really changing the way that I do everything effects-wise now. I really don't need a second luxury saw approximation pedal in addition to the 4ms Nocto Loco. I'm selling a bunch of things because after playing an Eventide H7600, I've realized that a Pitchfactor, if controlled by the midi or USB outs on the MP-201, will be a powerful enough addition to my rig that I'll a) have a ton of completely insane and unique sounds and b) be able to get rid of a ton of my pedals and downsize my floor rig.
With the MP-201, it just makes sense to go with the Pitchfactor. I'll probably be selling a lot of other gear very soon as well.
