FS - Fender Sting Bass Neck

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently bought a Sting bass locally, which will be the
basis for my next "Frankenbass" project. I really like the
SCPB sound, but I am pretty much a Jazz-neck kinda guy.

So this one's gotta go. I did play the bass some as-is, and
I'd have to say it's a great neck overall - has some nice
tiger-stripe to the maple and I was able to get a real low
action without much fuss. Frets show light use, but have
plenty of meat left. Truss rod turns smoothly.

Of course we all know the Sting is a '51 variant and as
such, the neck is square-pocket. Works for Sting bass,
'51 RI, and Dirnt models.

I looked around ebay and reliablefender seems to price
these in the $280 - $350 range. How about $235 shipped?
Paypal preferred, of course. I also have original tuners
that could be worked into the deal.

Hi, the tuners will definitely be for sale, but I want to wait and
offer them to a buyer of the neck first. If someone wants the
neck but not the machines, then I will be putting an ad for them,
so stay tuned. Or if the neck does not sell here and winds up on
ebay, they would also be available under those circumstances.

Thanks for your interest!

I'm not sure what Fender specs were for this model
(they seem to call everything a "C" anyways). I found
it to be very much a "B" feel, definitely not like those
wide and flat C necks as found on models like the '50s Classic.

I measure 1 5/8" width at nut.

I have a Sting too. The neck is very nice.

Love your avatar Richard. My favorite. Looks kinda like a D.

Since I have had requests for specific measurements,
I thought I would post what Stanley says. First,
width at heel and neck depth.

Thanks, 9mmMike! You do realize that your avatar also figures
into this - my plans are to refinish this thing in Dakota Red :}
