FS/FT: Bodies, Necks, & TWO Warmoth projects (overseas ok)

Sign in to disble this ad
All prices are plus shipping ($15-$35 in the US, more for overseas.)

I am buying a car so sales get first priority, followed by trades with cash included. (I will do trades for other bodies, necks, or other parts or sell straight out.)

I will be listing a hardware and parts thread this weekend also... Will include pickups, bridges, gigbags, strings, and just about any other part on a bass...

Bodies:

SOLD Fender Aerodyne Jazz Body - Midnight Wine - $170

Probably keeping this but PM me if really interested Warmoth? Gibson Thunderbird Body - Alder, no finish, no pickup routes - $180

Necks:

MIM Precision - New condition - no tuners or string tee now - $150

TRADED MIM Jazz - Front of headstock sanded (still has serial number on back) - comes with 60s style waterslide decal for front of headstock - $150

Squier Precision Special - Precision decal, 1.5 inch Jazz nut width - $75

Squier Precision Special Fretless - Precision decal, 1.5 inch Jazz nut width, Defretted and filled, includes original tuners - $75

Warmoth Projects: (willing to seperate body from neck if I find buyers, however they both have things that make it better to keep them together.)

#1 - Finished Precision body with warmoth neck - last 4 frets removed (see below) - $240 (or $140 for body and $130 for neck)

BODY TRADED #2 - Warmoth Jazz body and Warmoth neck - Quilted top, Some extra routing in body that needs covered or filled (see below) - $270 (or $125 for body and $175 for neck)

I also have several basses here: FS/FT: Several Basses

I will have a parts thread again this week. Here is an old one for now: Joe's Parts List - decals pickups bridges hardware straps books vids (overseas ok)

Warmoth Project #1

The project consists of a warmoth neck and a precision body and a few parts.

The Precision body has a cool wax looking but hard natural finish. It includes the original white (3 ply wbw) pick guard. It looks like alder but I am not sure. A fender bridge and the original ground wire is included though not pictured. No issues with the body and very nice shape.

The warmoth neck with last 4 frets ripped out and epoxy filled. It's a maple neck and either pau ferro or rosewood fingerboard, with a nice satin finish. The truss rod works great and the frets are almost new. It has no issues other than the last 4 frets missing. It has the nut, but no tuners, and is in great shape.

In addition it will come with a neck plate and neck screws installed to keep the body and neck together.

It's overall light to average weight. it will probably make for a 9 to 9.5 lb bass when complete. These 2 pieces are perfectly matched for each other so I am not seperating them unless I find 2 buyers.

I was going to complete this project myself but I just have too many so this one goes out the door.

All it really needs is the pickups, electronics, and tuners and some really minor hardware to be complete. It will be a nice project if you don't mind the last 4 frets missing or want to put a fretless ramp at the end. That's what I was going to do but don't have the tools to do it myself.

MIM Precision neck - New condition - The tuners and string tree are now gone... ignore them in the pics.

Rosewood board on maple. Frets in almost new condition. 2005 according to serial number. No extra mounting holes on neck heel or behind tuners (has only ever been on the original body or another bass that matched perfectly.)

It looks like you're missing the E string tuner ferrule in the front headstock picture of your MIM Precision neck ... do you have it? Thanks, Steve

What Fender/Mexico model of Precision did your MIM Precision neck originally come from?

I have a MIM J neck from a Fender Deluxe Active Jazz from around the same year that has a 7.25" fingerboard radius ... does your neck also have a 7.25" radius?

Lastly ... is this neck straight and a good player with a fully functioning truss rod?

Thanks, Steve

I actually never had it on a body so I don't know the model. I can't really tell about the radius unless you let me know how to tell.

As far as I can tell the neck is a good player and straight. If it isn't, I'll refund full cost and shipping in the event of a return. The truss rod does work and the frets are brand new.

re: fingerboard radius question

<<

I don't know how you calculate it, either. However, you might be able to eyeball it if you have enough experience with 60's and 70's Fender bass necks. A 7.25" fingerboard radius is the vintage Fender bass radius which is more rounded than most of the modern Fender bass fingerboards (such as the American and American Standard series necks which have a 9.25" fingerboard radius) and would be the same as any pre-CBS or USA '62 reissue P or J. The other end of the spectrum are the Warmoth P and J necks which have even flatter fingerboards than the American/American Standard series necks.

It is not as flat as a warmoth board which is usually 12 inch radius. It is less rounded than my 71 p bass. This probably means it is 9.25 inches.
