I just bought a MIM Jazz here on TB. It came with the Model J pups installed. I am more of a traditional guy, so these pups are not really my thing although they sound just fine. I am only considering switching them out because the bass was cosmetically damaged in shipping and the finish is going to need to be repaired, so I figure while its in the shop I might as well have the pickups switched out.
The bass is only 3 years old and the pickups work well and look brand new.
I am interested either in an outright sale for $70 since they are $100 new. Or if you have a nice set of Fender J pups that you would like to trade, I would be interested in that. I am interested only in pups from MIA basses, so no MIM or CIJ offers please. And of course your pups would have to fit my bass. The DP's fit in this bass just fine, so if your pups are the same size as DP's, then yours will work in my bass.
There is one condition. If UPS does not find in my favor on the damage claim, then I am not sure what I will be doing, and I may not have this work done. UPS has the bass now and hopefully will be giving me a "ruling" soon. I won't be able to move on a pup deal until that ruling happens.
