I bought this neck from a TB'r, and it was in new-never mounted condition. I then sanded a substantial amount off the thickness of the heel, and reshaped the heel corners so it fits snug and solid in my American P bass body.
Now comes the part where the cussing started

I had a set of SX tuners lying around, but decided to install Fender Hwy 1 tuners since it was going on a Fender body.
The fender tuners are slightly larger diameter, so I had to enlarge the tuner holes. I did this by sanding with a dowel.
I wanted them to fit snug so after sanding I pressed then in slowly with c clamp.
all went swimmingly until the final (E) string hole. I didn't sand enough, and used a bit too much pressure, and cracked the headstock.
To repair it I drilled straight down through the neck, parellel to the nut. I then ran a wood screw in. I believe that area of the neck is probably stronger than original now, and I played it on my P bass for about 6 months, until I ran across a Moses jazz neck recently.
However, I filled in behind the screw repair with wood putty, and I 'm definitely not expert with the stuff. So I just played it how it was.
I also put a Fender P water slide on it rather inexpertly. At first I was gonna sand it back off, but kinda grew to like it. If you don't feel the same it would be esay to remove.
So after all that, what we have here is a good looking, solid, great playing neck with some warts, for a heck of a lot less money than an Allparts which would look and feel very similar. It would be a great neck for that Squier project you considered...includes tuners, tree, and I'll throw in an SX neck plate if you want it. I don't have screws for it but I was using Fender screws.
There are measurement pics shown. the front to back profile is moderately chunky for a jazz.
