FS/FT: Wilkinson Adjustable Spacing 4-String Bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
For sale or trade: Wilkinson 4 String Bridge. I got this in a package deal for some bass parts and it’s not really my cup of tea. It features adjustable string spacing and it seems like it has set screws to lock everything down. I’m not sure how old this thing or what model it is but it is rather unique. The back three holes will fit into a standard Fender bridge location but you will have to drill holes for the front screws if you choose to use them. The black base is made of aluminum. I’m not sure what its worth since I can’t find anything to compare it to but how about we start at $30 shipped CONUS or willing to trade for a Gotoh 201 bridge or possibly a standard Fender bridge as long as it’s not a Squier. Prefer something that’s got a little more mass to it if at all possible. Let me know what you have and we’ll work out a deal.

I did a little research and it appears that the model of this bridge is a TW-4. It was a factory bridge for some Carvin basses from 1991 – 1998. It uses set screws on the back of the bridge to lock each individual string in place so you can move these things to whatever position you want. If you want them move them all to one side you can do that, or you can move two strings to one side and the other two to the other side you can do that as well, or make them all evenly space to whatever your preference is (tight or wide string spacing). It also has a set screw to lock down the saddles so the intonation doesn’t move. The base plate is made of black anodized aluminum and either you love the look or you don’t. I thought it was an interesting concept on how the ball at the end of the string slips over a small peg and that’s what holds it in place. It’s different, that’s for sure.

I knew there was a reason I would never make a good salesman . (I know it’s a good bridge, just not my cup of tea). I can paint it fake chrome if you want. Guaranteed to look silver (not chrome like the can makes you believe) and it will look great as long as you don’t move anything.
