FS/FT: Wilson Effects Bass Freaker Wah

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys. I grabbed one of the Wilson Effects Bass Freaker Wahs right after they rolled off production a few months ago. The pedal is awesome, but wahs aren't my thing. It is in good condition and has seen maybe three hours of play time. Has never left my basement.

Details:

"The Freaker Wah is based on one of the most famous unique
sounding wah pedals of all time (Tycobrahe Parapedal). The Freaker Wah takes the wah pedal to a new level. Not only can you get the classic sounds of the original, you now have the option to tune the sweep and the Q to suit your own tastes. There is also and additional Quack knob that assists you in tuning the amount of quack that you would like in the sweep of the pedal."
  • 6 position Q/Sweep selector knob
  • Quack tuning knob
  • True Bypass
  • Switchcraft enclosed jacks
  • 9v Battery or 2.1mm negative center power supply
  • Heavy duty metal housing
  • Handmade in the U.S.A.

Clips Clean. Clips with Drive.

Pics upon request.

Given the fact that this is essentially new, I'd like to get $175 shipped in the CONUS. Trades considered: Some kind of Malekko B:Assmaster. Akai Headrush. Wattson Classic Audio Superfuzz. 3xFx Fuzz Bomb. VooDoo Lab PP2+. Vintage Rat (plus cash on your end stock, plus slightly less cash from your end modded for bass response). Not much else, but you never know.

Thanks for reading.

That Parapedal is the one used by Geezer Butler in N.I.B. right?

Yes, Geezer is using Tycobrahe. Chicago Iron have bought the trade mark and is producting these wah pedals claiming that they are as close to original as possible. Price is like $380, so Wilson Freaker Wah seems a better idea.

I will gladly ship international at the expense of the buyer.

And yes, the Parapedal is the model used by Geezer. I haven't played the Chicago Iron model, but the Freaker is everything that I've read the Parapedal is. The dual pot control design is very unique, to a point that I probably wouldn't be the best to describe, but the terms Phaser and Synth-like definitely apply.

The heel of the sweep essentially drops volume and tone to zero, and the sound swells as your move through the sweep range, which is incredibly wide, and very 'natural.'

If you're into Wah, I can't imagine using better. I just can't place it in my music, for all of my trying.

I'd love to buy it just to try it out, but I've already had a GAS splurge on a Fatman and a Nocto Loco this month!
