They can be reversed. I've never done it though.

It's darn easy to reverse the Hipshot (not "Licensed Hipshot") tuners. If you can't figure it out... don't install the tuners in the first place - consult a professional

I've found a cure for the "irreversible Hipshot Licensed tuner syndrome"! IRHLTS!
