The preamp is a custom John East preamp, it is based on the MMSR EQ, which is the 70s vintage MM EQ, but has inputs for two pickups, such as a J/MM pickup config. This is a four-knob preamp, with separate single (not stacked) pots for the Bass and Treble. The Treble also has an additional bright boost via push/pull, which is like the Sabre bright control on MM Sabre basses.
I also have a Villex PRTB (Passive Rotary Tone Booster) that was integrated into this circuit. When the electronics were taken out of the bass, the PRTB and preamp were separated. I'm thinking of holding onto the PRTB for a future project, but I might be willing to sell it too depending on who might want to try this setup in their bass.
John East custom preamp only (4-knob, 2-pickup, 2-band preamp): $125 shipped
Villex PRTB only: $80 shipped
East Pre & PRTB together $200

You can hard wire that into active only or use a push pull for the volume if you want to keep that option on your Ray, but I think EB Stingrays are usually always on active.

Any good tech or person with wiring/soldering skills could install this.

Again, the John East has four knobs and one switch. Vol, Bal, Bass, Treble (pull Bright), switch for active/passive. Villex is currently not attached but would be the 5th knob if you want it. Switch can be removed if you want.
